OOBA TOOBA WEBSITE DESIGN & REBRAND

Website Prototype

THE BRIEF

​Design a logo, website, and a new brand for Ooba Tooba Mexican Grill. Since Ooba Tooba is a unique Mexican restaurant that provides recipes from all regions of Mexico, I utilized illustrations of animals and foods from different regions of Mexico in the rebrand. I designed a custom type for the logo which resembled an old fashioned font that was popular in Mexico.

INSPIRATION

​For the visual elements of the brand, such as the animal and food icons, I went for a simpler direction for the style. I did not want the style of the illustrations to clash with the style of the logo and did not want one aspect to outweigh the other. The styles between the logo and illustrations weigh each other out nicely. The colors for the brand are lively and playful, such as the tone of the restaurant itself. In order to keep the illustrations simple, I strayed away from multicolored icons.

FINAL DELIVERABLES

  • A pattern of Ooba Tooba Illustrative assets; various vegetables, a chicken, armadillo, snake wrapped around a burrito, a sun, water waves, fire, and hot sauce drops.
  • A website page layout of the 'home' page of Ooba Tooba. At the top, a hero image of the title of the restaurant, followed by "Mexican food - with a twist." With an illustration of an armadillo on the right and an illustration of a chicken on the left. Below, a summarization of the menu as well as a decorative image of fajitas. Underneath that, a testimonial section followed by another decorative image and two buttons that offer the hours & location, and a subscription button. Lastly, an introduction to the "Our Story" section followed by a section that offers help to book a catering order.
